PROTECTION FOR THE REAL WORLD
1. How is Katalyst Care different from traditional warranties or device insurance?
Traditional warranties fix things. That usually means boxing it up, shipping it off, and hoping it comes back soon.
Katalyst Care is built around uptime. Approved claims ship Next Business Day for Katalyst hardware. If your connectivity goes down, your business feels it. This program exists to prevent that.
2. Is Katalyst Care one plan or multiple options?
Katalyst Care offers multiple coverage levels.
Businesses can select Extended Warranty Protection, Accidental Damage Protection, or combine both for broader device protection. Theft and loss coverage are available as separate plan upgrades.
3. What’s the difference between Extended Warranty and Accidental Damage?
Extended Warranty Protection covers internal mechanical or electrical failure after the manufacturer’s warranty ends.
Accidental Damage Protection covers drops, spills, cracked screens, and physical damage from real-world use.
If it breaks inside, that’s Extended Warranty. If it breaks outside, that’s Accidental Damage.
4. Does this only cover Katalyst products?
Yes. This one’s for Katalyst hardware.
If we didn’t make it, we don’t insure it.
5. How many claims can I file?
Each covered device includes up to two claims per rolling 12 months.
6. Is there a deductible?
No. There are $0 deductibles and no service fees on any coverage tier.
If it’s a covered claim, it gets replaced.
7. When can I purchase coverage?
Coverage must be added at the time of device purchase.
It’s available for new units only and cannot be added after the fact. If you want protection, add it upfront.
8. Can I add coverage later?
No. Katalyst Care must be added when the device is purchased.
9. When does coverage begin?
Coverage begins once the device is enrolled and confirmed under the selected protection plan.
10. How do I file a claim?
Claims can be submitted through your reseller partner or directly through the AKKO Harbor self-service portal. Once approved, a replacement ships the next business day.
11. Who handles the claims?
Katalyst Care is powered by AKKO and backed by a global A-rated insurer. AKKO manages the claims process through their dedicated platform.
12. How fast are replacements shipped?
Next Business Day.
We move. Quickly.
13. What isn’t covered?
Katalyst Care covers drops, damage, and hardware failure during normal use.
It does not cover intentional damage or large-scale catastrophic events.
14. What’s required for theft claims?
A copy of a police report is required for theft claims.
